Mary Roberts is an Egyptology student at the American University of Cairo. She receives a call from the famous Professor Ziegler to participate in a secret dig in the Valley of the Queens. Dream-like visions of ancient Egypt and a tomb relic from a street market reveal something prescient about her tattoos.

Episode 2: Ziegler's Difference
Episode 2: On Mary's first day at the dig with Professor Ziegler, she discovers the stunning meaning of her tattoos and her visions. During the following weeks, her Ba—an aspect of the soul recognized in Egyptian religion—is released from her body at night, filling her with anticipation. Several weeks pass, and one day Mary arrives at the tomb before Professor Ziegler, only to find a moment of triumph disintegrate into disaster.

Episode 3: The Dew Drop

Episode 4: The Necklace
Mary needs to recover from a devestating accusation that she feels will end her career. Youssef comes to her aid with some some hopeful narratives. And Mary has still another Ba experience, filled with tingling anticipation, like lightning ready to strike.
